Introduction

Welcome to WiseCV ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience when building your professional resume. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store, process, and protect your information when you use our website and application.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use WiseCV, we collect the following types of information:

Anonymous Users

• Name and Headline
• Email Address and Phone Number
• Resume Content (career experience, education history)
• Skills, Languages, Projects, Certifications, and References
• Profile Photo (if uploaded)

Registered Users

When you sign in or create an account to save your progress:

• Your resume content is securely stored in our database (Supabase) so you can access it across multiple devices.
• We store basic account details (authentication credentials and timestamps).

2. How Your Data is Stored

We utilize a secure local-first architecture and secure cloud backups:

• LocalStorage: Drafts are stored in this browser. Account sign-out clears local CV drafts by default. You may explicitly choose to retain an anonymous local draft; anyone using that browser profile can read it. AI keys are held only for the browser-tab session and cleared on account changes or sign-out.
• Cloud Database (Supabase): Secured using Row Level Security (RLS). Row ownership policies restrict ordinary signed-in users to their own CV records. Account deletion, where enabled, uses an authenticated backend rather than direct client deletion.

3. AI Processing (Groq)

If you choose to use AI-powered writing assistance, the selected resume text is sent directly to Groq's API for processing. If you provide your own Groq API key, that key is held in your browser-tab session, cleared on sign-out or account change, and sent directly to Groq with the selected resume text. It is not included in CV backups or cloud CV saves. Groq processes the submitted text under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. Payments (PayPal)

Lifetime Pro payments are processed by PayPal. You pay on PayPal's secure checkout, and we never see or store your card or bank details. To activate Pro and handle refunds, we keep a payment record linked to your account: the PayPal order and transaction IDs, the amount, the currency, the payment status and the date. PayPal processes your payment information under its own privacy statement.

5. We Never Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data or CV content, and we do not use it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers needed to run WiseCV — Supabase (accounts and cloud storage), Groq (optional AI writing help) and PayPal (payments) — and only for those purposes, or where the law requires it.

6. Cloud Synchronization

For registered users, data is synced in real-time between your local browser and our Supabase backend. Sync endpoints are secured via HTTPS, and database access is restricted by authenticated database permissions and row ownership policies. Signing in loads a separate account profile; anonymous drafts are not uploaded automatically. Download a backup before signing in if you want to preserve a local draft.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We may use standard browser storage to remember your system theme preference (light/dark mode) and UI settings.

Google Fonts and the version-pinned JavaScript CDN receive standard connection metadata, such as your IP address, when your browser loads these resources. When you open the Pro checkout, PayPal's checkout script also loads from paypal.com and receives similar connection data. CV content is not intentionally sent to those resource providers. Groq, Supabase and PayPal receive data needed for the features described above.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we work to safeguard your data against unauthorized access.

9. Your Rights

You have full ownership of your data. You can:

• Clear all data instantly from your browser settings.
• Export your entire resume data to a local JSON backup file.
• Where self-service deletion is enabled, open Account → Delete account and cloud CV, confirm your password, and type DELETE. This deletes the account and associated cloud CV and clears local CV data in that session. If this feature is unavailable, contact support@wisemindsai.com to request deletion. Previously downloaded files remain on your device. This flow does not delete records held independently by Groq or other providers; contact support for questions about provider retention.

10. Data Retention

• Anonymous users: Resume data remains in your browser until you clear it or remove browser data. Account sign-out clears local CV data unless you explicitly choose to retain a draft.
• Registered users: Resume data remains in your account until you delete it or request account deletion.
• Payment records: Kept for tax and accounting purposes, even after you delete your account. When an account is deleted, its payment records are no longer linked to it.

11. Children's Privacy

WiseCV is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 years of age.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
